Our Tomahawk Range is located at the bottom of the hill behind the camping pitches towards the left hand side near the Archery Range. The range is available for hire as a leader led activity, but you must provide your own equipment. It is suitable for both Tomahawk and Mini Hawk throwing.
Range hire only, no equipment is provided.
You need to provide your own equipment, including targets and stands to be able to run the activity.
Scouting & Guiding
No formal qualifications are required to lead the activity. However the requirements set out below must be met.
The person leading the activity must have written permission from their District Lead Volunteer / Commissioner. The written permission should include the name of the leader in charge of the activity, that they have the appropriate skills and knowledge of the activity taking place and that they are solely responsible for leading the activity at all times. The activity must be run in accordance with FS120011.
Tomahawks and Mini Hawks can only be used within the confines of the Tomahawk Range.
Throwing at targets representing human beings or animals is not permitted as a part of any Scout activity, nor on property owned or leased by, or used in the name of, the Scout Association.
