Our kayaking venue is the Parker Pool, this is a Class C water just down the hill from the Campfire Circle. We have 6 kayaks, plus an additional one for the leader in charge.

Scouting
Parker Pool is a Class C water, therefore no formal qualifications are required to lead the activity. However the requirements set out below must be met.
The person leading the activity must have written permission from their District Lead Volunteer. This must be presented at time of issue of equipment. The written permission should include the name of the leader in charge of the activity, that they have the appropriate skills and knowledge of the activity taking place and that they are solely responsible for leading the activity at all times, as per POR Rule 9.44. (See FS120623 for more information with regard to water activities, excluding swimming on waters regarded as Class C). Ensuring compliance to POR 9.42 in relation to Non Swimmer ratios.
Guiding
An appropriate instructor qualification must be presented at time of issue of equipment.
As per the Guiding Manual, all instructors for Kayaking must hold Paddlesport Instructor Award or higher. Anyone holding a Paddlesport Instructor Award must be supervised by a Coach Award Holder unless they have been approved to work Independently.
Site Equipment can only be used by either Scouts or Guides, no other organisations can use it without prior approval in writing (at the discretion of the Campsite Manager) unless a member of the Dunham Team / Site Instructor is leading the activity.
Damage to any equipment will be charged.
