Our Archery Range is located at the bottom of the hill behind the camping pitches towards the left hand side, if you have your own permit the range can be hired with or without our equipment. Otherwise, we are able to provide an instructor on certain weekends, availability is shown in the calendars below. The range has a covered seating area to provide shelter whilst you are waiting your turn.
Both adult and junior ambidextrous bows are available, plus arm guards, finger tabs, arrows, ground quivers, target stands and target bosses.
The person leading the activity must hold the below qualifications for Archery:-
Scouting
- Scout Archery Permit
- Minimum of Archery GB Instructors Award if using an external (non scouting) instructor
Guiding
- Minimum of Archery GB Instructors Award
An appropriate instructor qualification must be presented at time of issue of equipment.
If you are unable to provide your own instructor, please add the Request an Archery Instructor option to your shopping cart, we will attempt to find an instructor for you, but there is no guarantee that this can be achieved.
Archery can only be done within the confines of the Archery Range.
Each archery session should have no more than 10 people (less for younger children) for two reasons, the safety of those taking part in the activity but to also allow an adequate amount of archery time for each person.
Site Equipment can only be used by either Scouts or Guides, no other organisations can use it without prior approval in writing (at the discretion of the Campsite Manager) unless a member of the Dunham Team / Site Instructor is leading the activity.
Damage to any equipment will be charged. In particular the loss of, or irreparable damage to an arrow will be charged.
